The Dwarves vs. Smaug
Once upon a time the dwarves were digging and one time at 8'oclock they found something. And the dwarf who was digging the big hole he jumped into the deep hole and it kept on going on until he caught a branch. And then he swung across the trees into a cave. And it was Smaug's cave. He was worried that Smaug might see him. So he ran as fast as he could past Smaug's part of the cave. And Smaug heard his running. And then he woke up. The dwarve was still running and then he jumped into a little hole. And Smaug tried to get in the little hole but his head got stuck in the hole! And He tried to get his head out. And the dwarves were still digging, until they bumped into something. They got caught in it. And Smaug was still stuck in the hole. And they were caught in a t-rex skeleton. All the bones were already put together. Smaug was so scared he pulled his head out of the opening. And it broke his two long horns off! And he went a different way and the dwarves went in another hole and Smaug's back got stuck in that hole too! And they were stuck in a triceratops skeleton. And then Smaug, he was so scared, he pulled his back out and it broke his pokies on his back! And then they jumped into another hole until they got caught in a long-neck skeleton. And Smaug's tail got stuck in it. It broke his arrow at the back of his tail!
And then they jumped into another hole. Smaug was drinking some water. And then he saw them in the opening. He tried and tried and tried to blow fire but he couldn't! And then the dwarves got dressed up in ghost costumes and Smaug was so scared he ran out of his cave!
And the dwarves kept on going on until they found Smaug fast asleep. And they found his treasure part of his cave. And they all got buckets and teapots and Indian drums! And old teepee's. And they put all the gold in them. And then they gave all the treasure back to the people. But Smaug was so mad he blew fire on all the peoples houses.
The end.

One day we were looking at Christmas lights. We came around the corner onto our street and we saw a dog sitting by a house. We walked along our street until we got to the spot where the dog was. The dog just came across the street growling and barking and running. And then I ran into the house and I ran behind mommy's bed and stayed there with the door closed.

Retelling Parts of The Fox and the Hound
Once upon a time, the bad hunter went with his grey dog for a hunt. And he put a fox trap on the ground and he covered it with leaves. And then The man turned around and he was up on a hill. And then the man slid down a little branch with his gun holding on tight in his hand. And then the gun caught a branch and the gun was stuck behind a little plant. The man kept on sliding. And then a big dark black grizzly bear stumbled down the branch! Then the man jumped across the water and the dog went the other way and then the man walked on leaves and the bear walked the other way, and then he was on the man's trail. And the bad hunter, he stepped on the trap! It trapped his leg! While the grizzly bear was coming. And he tried to get it off his feet. And then the grey dog came and he tried to fight the bear. Then the fox came and he tried to save his friend. And he tried to fight the bear. And then they woke up with a pretty morning. And then the hunter came. And he got a light up stick and he caught it on fire. Then he took up a lot of sticks and then put the fire on them. And then they put it near the fox and they got away. And the fox found a hole. He said, "Hello!"
And then a badger came out of the hole. And he was grumpy. He said, "Why did you come in my holey cave?"
And the fox said, "I didn't mean to."
And the badger came out all the way and then he was very very grumpy. And he said, "Why did you come near a badger that looks like me?"
He was super grumpy.
And then there was a hedgehog. And he offered the fox to come and sleep with him. And right before it was morning they heard a HMMMNNNNN. And then the fox woke up. And the hedgehog was still sleeping. Then the fox woke up and yelled, "HELP!" And then he was running around the hole. And then their was a woodpecker pecking into a tree. And then a caterpillar crawled out. And then he came to an end of the branch. And then he went into a hole in the branch. And then the woodpecker came to the end of the branch too. And then he saw the caterpillar's head poke out of a hole. And he pecked on the hole. And the branch broke and the woodpecker fell!
Then he slept and the caterpillar went in the snow. And then he got caught in a snow chunk and he dug through it. And then he went into the house. And he warmed himself up by the fire. And then the woodpecker was watching in the house through the doorlock. And then he tried to peck on the door. And then the mommy came out. And she thought to herself, "I think I heard a knock on the door." And she opened the door and smacked the bird on the side of the house!
And then she looked around and she didn't see anything. And while she was looking, the woodpecker, pecked through the door. and then she brought the plant out and she got a watering can and the caterpillar hid behind a branch. And the girl watered the plant. And the caterpillar got watered too. And he said Heeeeelp!" And he held his breath and he blew bubbles in the water. And then the wood peckers were talking together about the caterpillar and the caterpillar ran up a pipe. And then the woodpecker was on one side, and the baby woodpecker was on the other. And then the woodpecker pecked on the pipe. And then it ran past the baby bird. And then it was on the electricity wires. And then he went into a light. And then the woodpecker pecked on the light and the electricity came out. And then the caterpillar walked on the other wires, and while he was walking he lit up every step he took. And then they looked in the hole again. And then they said, "What a crazy caterpillar." And then little things came out. And then the caterpillar was a butterfly!
The End.

The Sound of Adventure
One time, you (Daddy) and me, and Nathan, and Grammy and grandpa and grandma and grandad and everybody else were going to the forest for a trip. Then we heard eheheheee. Then it was a trap!!! Then we heard pwhwphwpwchch, then we heard a shshshshshs, then it was a Grr-uuuf-alo! Then we heard chickssssshh. Then it was a LLLL--III-OON. But it was a nice lion. And it helped us fight all the animals then we went back to our house and all the other families went back to their house then Grammy and Grandpa and Grandma and Grandad slept with us.

The Big Fire
A short story by Nathan:
One time we drove in our car. We were driving to Grammy's house. We went inside. Then we played outside. And then we saw a little orange pushing out of the bushes. And then it was going higher and higher. It was a big fire! And the fire burned up the bushes. They tumbled down onto the fire. The fire caught the wood on fire. Now the wood was the biggest fire in the wood. And we ran home as fast as we could.
The end.

A Walk to Grammy's
Once upon a time you (daddy) me (Caleb), and Nathan were going for a walk. Then we walked around the town until we went to Grammy's house. And Grammy was sleeping so we made our dinner our-self. Then we heard a Pwwhshshwwsh. It was two T-rex's!!! Then they had to go in their own house. Then Goliath made the noise so he had to go in his house. The end.
